Dear Skateboarders and Parents,
Welcome to McNabb Skate Park 2011 Summer Camp!
Our skateboard camp is a specialized program that offers skateboarding in a safe and enjoyable environment. With the help of our staff and volunteers, you will be able to skateboard and achieve personal goals. During the week we will spend a great deal of time skateboarding. In addition, we will be enjoying other fun activities, which are outlined later in this package. Our staff and volunteers look forward to meeting and sharing the positive aspects of skateboarding with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to phone the office at 613.564.1070.
What Campers need to bring daily...
§ skateboard § skateboard or running shoes (no sandals, no flip flops) § helmet, elbow pads and knee pads § water § healthy lunch and snacks (nut free) § bathing suit and towel § plastic bag for wet clothing § sunscreen (SPF 15 minimum, please apply in the morning before camp) § a smile

§ Respect all campers, staff and volunteers. § Listen to the staff and the volunteers. § Campers are responsible for their belongings (avoid bringing valuables and
identify your belonging with your name). § No nuts or peanuts in lunches. § When in a Skate Park... OBEY THE RULES § Helmets, elbow pads and kneepads must be worn when skating. § Skater etiquette is expected at all times – be aware of your surroundings. § Wait your turn. Do not proceed down a ramp until it is clear of other skaters. § If you want to sit down, choose an area away from the ramps.
Participant Enrolment Form and Day Trips and Excursions Permission Form
Please complete the attached forms and return them to McNabb Recreation Centre prior to the start of camp. This information is mandatory to attend the skate camp. A “Conditions of Enrolment” and day trips form is enclosed, with a weekly activity schedule of planned day trips. Also included is a waiver to disclose and use personal
information, McNabb may take photo or video for educational and or promotional purposes. If you do not want your child to be photographed leave the form blank.
Supervision and Attendance
The skate camp activities take place from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Pre-camp is available from 8:00 am – 9:00 am and post-camp from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. We use a sign in and out system to record the safe arrival and departure of participants from our skate camp. Please sign your child in with staff when they are brought to the camp and sign them out when you pick them up.
Early Departure/Late Arrivals or Unable to Attend
If your child will be late or will not be attending camp on a particular day, please notify our office before 9:00 am. If your child must leave early on a certain day, please inform us in advance and provide a note to the skateboard camp co- ordinator.
Lunches and Snacks
All participants are to bring a healthy lunch with snacks and drinks. Try to avoid foods with lots of fats and or sugars. We will be very active all day and campers will need all healthy goods to keep up with our schedule. Lastly, nuts and peanuts are not permitted.
First Aid
Our staff are certified in Standard First Aid and C.P.R. If your child becomes sick during the day, a staff will contact you and request you to pick up your child. In the case of a serious accident, we will make arrangements to transport the child to a hospital. The camp coordinator will contact parents and accompany the injured child to the hospital. Any child suffering from a contagious sickness will not be allowed to participate in the camp.
Medication Administration Request Form
If your child has been identified as taking medication (ie: epi pen, inhaler, medication etc). Please complete the Medication Administration Request form and return to camp co-ordinator, by the start of camp.
